Russian economy to shrink more than 8.5% in 2009

MOSCOW. Dec 3 (Interfax) - Russian GDP will shrink more than 8.5% in 2009, Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Kudrin, who is also the country's finance minister, told reporters late yesterday.

"It'll definitely fall more than 8.5%," he said, without specifying whether the drop could be as much as 9%.
