Russian car imports down 74% in Jan-Oct; exports down 77%
MOSCOW. Dec 7 (Interfax) - Russia imported cars and light commercial vehicles (LCV) totaling about $7 billion in January-October 2009, 73.6% less than in the same period last year, the Federal Customs Service (FCS) reported.
In natural terms imports declined 75.1% in the 10 months year-on-year to 433,700 units, of which 90.7% were imported from non-CIS countries.
Russia's car and LCV exports fell 76.7% to $191 million, or 71.4% to 32,900 units, of which 73.2% (24,100 units) were exported to CIS countries.

Truck imports to Russia fell 87.7% to $447.7 million in the 10 months, or 84.5% to 18,400 units. Over 98.9% of trucks were imported from non-CIS countries.
Truck exports declined 60.6% to $263.1 million, or 67.1% to 11,600 units, of which 80.2% (9,300 trucks) were exported to CIS countries.
