Sberbank and VTB might not need additional capital in near future- Dvorkovich

MOSCOW. Dec 8 (Interfax) - Sberbank and VTB might not need additional capitalization in the near future, Presidential Advisor Arkady Dvorkovich told journalists.

"Sberbank has no need for increasing its capital. It is sufficient," he said.

He added that a decision for raising Sberbank's capital would largely depend on whether its borrowers would be able to meet their obligations or the bank itself could free up necessary reserves.

However, Dvorkovich added that VTB also had sufficient capital.

"If funds under the state's discretion are required by the banks they will be provided. However, this does not mean that these banks will implement any type of policy," Dvorkovich stressed
