MOSCOW. Dec 23 (Interfax) - Russian food safety watchdog Rosselkhoznadzor has banned meat imports from 17 enterprises in German and two in France effective December 28, 2009.

The bans were imposed after the poultry products from the suppliers were found to be contaminated with salmonella and listeria, while the pork products contained antibiotics.

In addition, Rosselkhoznadzor has struck from the list of suppliers one beef and one cheese enterprise in Lithuania (LT 55-05 EB and LT 67-01) for repeated violations of Russian veterinary requirements effective December 28, 2009.
