KuibyshevAzot product sales down 23% in Jan-Nov

SAMARA. Dec 24 (Interfax) - OJSC KuibyshevAzot saw its product sales drop 22.8% year-on-year in January-November to 14.2 billion rubles, a company press service statement says.

KuibyshevAzot's ammonia production increased 2.9% over the eleven months. Output of mineral fertilizers (100% nitrogen conversion) increased 3.5%, of caprolactam 5.3%, and of polyamide, 1.1%. Production of industrial thread was down 0.6%, of cord fabric 27.3%.

"The dynamics of these indicators are associated with the effects of the world economic crisis - a drop in demand and lower prices for products," the statement says.

KuibyshevAzot makes products of organic synthesis, basic chemicals, and also industrial gases, and is one of Russia's largest producers of mineral fertilizers. Its main shareholders are private individuals in the company's own management and that of LLC PO ChemTex.
