EU could call coordination group over risk of disrupted oil transit through Ukraine
BRUSSELS. Dec 28 (Interfax) - The European Commission does not rule out convening a coordination group to look at the situation over a possible disruption of Russian oil supplies through Ukraine.
At the same time, there is no confirmation of it yet, European Commission spokesman Mark English said in an interview with Interfax on Monday.
Currently, the EC has no information apart from that published earlier after learning from Russia about a possible disruption of oil supplies to the EU countries: Slovakia, Hungary and the Czech Republic.
Earlier, Russian Energy Minister Sergei Shmatko sent a formal letter notifying the European Union of a possible disruption in oil supplies to Slovakia, Hungary and the Czech Republic. Oil supplies could stop due to unresolved transit issues with Ukraine, the minister said.
