Number of loss-making banks in Russia rises to 194 in Nov
MOSCOW. Dec 30 (Interfax) - The number of loss-making banks in Russia rose to 194 in November from 171 in October, the Central Bank said in a statement.
Total pre-tax losses at these banks totaled 10.3 billion rubles in November and 151.7 billion rubles in January-November, up from 141.2 billion rubles in January-October.
The combined pre-tax profit of profitable banks, which declined to 871 from 896 banks, posted profits totaling 38.9 billion rubles in November, on top of profits in January-October totaling 209.1 billion rubles.
