Enka to rebrand all Ramstore outlets by end Jan

MOSCOW. Jan 11 (Interfax) - Enka intends to rebrand all of its Russia-based Ramstore supermarkets by the end of January, the Turkish developer's Russia division told Interfax.

The company said 17 outlets would have their signs changed to Citystore before the month is out.

The company is rebranding the stores because "Ramstore" is associated with the hypermarket format, however Enka handed all of its hypermarkets to France's Auchan in 2008. The Ramstore outlets that remained are medium-sized supermarkets with between 1,000 and 2,000 square meters.

The signs, interior design and staff uniforms will be changed, and Enka will develop a special Citystore range of goods.

Enka Russia runs ten Capitol shopping malls and 17 Ramstore supermarkets in Russia.
