Belarusian GDP grows 0.2% in 2009 - Belstat

MINSK. Jan 12 (Interfax) - Belarusian GDP rose 0.2% in 2009 in constant prices, state statistics agency Belstat reported.

"GDP growth was restored for the full year after declining 0.4% through the first 11 months," Belstat said.

Industrial production fell 2.8% in real terms last year. Agricultural output was up 1.3%.

It was reported earlier that the Belarusian president approved a growth forecast of 10%-12% for 2009. The Economics Ministry forecast growth of 2%, while the IMF said GDP would contract 1.2%.
