Russian stock market opens with quotation gains, MICEX Stock Exchange up 1% in first minute
MOSCOW. Jan 14 (Interfax) - The Russian stock market open on Thursday with increases in blue chips owing to an upward correction on world stock markets and increasing oil prices. In the first minute of trading, the MICEX Stock Exchanged gained 1%.
By 10:31 pm Moscow time, the MICEX Stock Exchange had increased by 0.97% to 1,448.8 points while blue chips on the RTS Index had gone by 1.08% to 1,555.06%.
Futures on the RTS topped the base asset by 2.9 points, indicating a neutral mood among investors.
Posting gains on the MICEX were Gazprom , up 0.9%, VTB - 1.8%, Lukoil - 0.5%, MMC Norilsk Nickel - 1.7%, Rostelecom - 0.4%, Rosneft - 1.3%, Gazprom Neft - 0.6%, Surgutneftegas - 1%, Tatneft - 0.1% and Sberbank - 1% on common shares and 1.9% on prefs.
