NLMK ups steel output 1% to 10.6 mln tonnes in 2009

MOSCOW. Jan 22 (Interfax) - Novolipetsk Steel (NLMK) edged crude steel production up 1% in 2009 to 10.6 million tonnes, the Russian steel major said in a trading update.

This was slightly above guidance, which was 10.5 million tonnes.

Steel output in Q4 2009 was down 3% from Q3 2009 at 2.9 million tonnes.

NLMK expects to produce around 2.8 million tonnes of steel in Q1 2010, as in Q4 2009.
