Irkutsk region oil extraction soars 250% in 2009

IRKUTSK. Jan 22 (Interfax) - Oil extraction in the Irkutsk region jumped 250% to 1.592 million tonnes last year, a source in the regional subsurface resources department Irkutsknedr told Interfax.

OJSC Verkhnechonskneftegas, which works the Verkhnechonsk oil and gas condensate deposits, extracted 1.18 million tonnes of oil in 2009 (650% more year-on-year). LLC Irkutsk Oil Company produced 344,800 tonnes (up 40.8%), including at the Markovskoye deposits - 6,900 tonnes, Yaraktinskoye - 312,400 tonnes, Zapadno-Ayanskoye - 4,700 tonnes, and Danilovskoye - 20,800 tones. CJSC Baikal Region (formerly CJSC Dulisma), which works the Dulisminskoye deposits, extracted 66,400 tonnes of oil, a 33.3% year-on-year increase.

The Irkutsknedr source said that resources-users in the region extracted 397.2 million cubic meters of gas last year, a 20% increase over 2008. The bulk of that was produced by Verkhnechonskneftegas - 111.4 million cubic meters (640% more year-on-year). Irkutsk Oil Company produced 137.8 million cubic meters (down 36.9%), including 29.4 million cubic meters at Yaraktinskoye, 38.4 million cubic meters at Markovskoye, and 70 million cubic meters at Zapadno-Ayanskoye.

OJSC RUSIA Petroleum extracted 41.7 million cubic meters of gas from Kovytinksoye deposits (up 7.8% year-on-year). Baikal Region extracted 90.2 million cubic meters (up 140%). OJSC Bratskecogas, working the Bratskoye deposits, produced 900,000 cubic meters (down 43.8%). LLC Atov-Mag Plyus extracted 15.1 million cubic meters of gas (up 11.7%) from the Atovskoye deposits.

Producers extracted 3.7% less gas condensate (49,100 tonnes total), the source said. Irkutsk Oil Company produced 27,900 tonnes of condensate (down 32.8%), RUSIA Petroleum 2,100 tonnes (down 8.7%), Baikal Region 18,000 tonnes (up 200%), Bratskecogas 90 tonnes (down 55%), and Atov-Mag Plyus 1,000 tonnes (down 9%).
