Russian stocks open lower; MICEX index down 0.5%
MOSCOW. Jan 27 (Interfax) - The Russian stock market followed U.S. and Asian markets lower at the open on Wednesday.
The MICEX index was down 0.53% to 1,377.43 points as of 10:31 a.m. and the RTS index was down 1,439.31 points to 0.35%.
RTS futures were 15.8 points above fair value, indicating moderate positive investor expectations.
Decliners included Gazprom - down 0.5% on MICEX, VTB - down 0.3%, Lukoil - down 0.6%, MMC Norilsk Nickel - down 0.9%, Rosneft - down 1%, Gazprom Neft - down 0.4%, Surgutneftegas - down 0.6%, Tatneft - down 1%, Sberbank Russia - down 0.1% and Polyus Gold - down 0.8%.
