Rosinter ups 2009 sales 0.7% to 8.5 bln rubles

MOSCOW. Jan 28 (Interfax) - OJSC Rosinter Holding edged sales up 0.7% to 8.543 billion rubles, the dining chain operator said in a statement.

In the fourth quarter of 2009, sales revenue shrank by 1.5% to 2.33 billion rubles while like for like sales in the year fell by 16.1% and 13.4% for the last quarter. The value of the average check went down by 0.3% in 2009 and by 5.7% in the fourth quarter. Total transactions during the year declined by 15.8% and 8.2% in the fourth quarter.

Rosinter's total restaurants in 2009 increased from 337 to 350. The company's franchising chain increased by 28.4% to 95 outlets.

Rosinter's total debt at the end of 2009 came to $72.5 million (2.194 million rubles) in comparison with $82.7 million at the start of the year. Ruble-based debt accounted for 72.9%.

The Rosinter group's restaurant brands include Il Patio, Planet Sushi, T.G.I. Friday's, American Bar & Grill, Moka Loka, Santa Fe, 1-2-3 Cafe, Cafe des Artistes, and Sibirskaya Korona.
