Dollar, euro gain on ruble in first minutes of trading on Friday
MOSCOW. Jan 29 (Interfax) - The ruble fell against the dollar and euro in the first minutes of trading on the MICEX currency exchange on Friday on negative sentiment on global capital markets.
The dollar opened trading in "tom" contracts at 30.44-30.48 rubles/$1, which is approximately 15 kopecks above Thursday's close and 10 kopecks above the Central Bank exchange rate.
The euro opened at 42.5 rubles/1 euro, 5 kopecks higher than the previous close but 8 kopecks below the official exchange rate.
The bicurrency basket ($0.55 and 0.45 euro) rose to 35.88-35.9 rubles, which is roughly 10 kopecks above the previous close.
The Interfax Center for Economic Analysis noted that the dollar has risen to a six-month high against the euro in global forex trading.
