Private deposits in Russian banks up 1.6% in Jan, excluding Sberbank
MOSCOW. Feb 8 (Interfax) - Deposits by private citizens in Russian banks, not counting Sberbank of Russia , increased 1.6% in January, the director of the Central Bank of Russia's banking regulation and oversight department, Alexei Simanovsky, told reporters.
This is a preliminary figure, and aside from Sberbank does not factor in the deposits taken by some lending organizations, but those would not affect the overall figure much anyway, Simanovsky said.
