Personal income distribution virtually unchanged in 2009 - Rosstat

MOSCOW. Feb 9 (Interfax) - The distribution of personal incomes in Russia last year was virtually the same as in 2008, Federal State Statistics Service (Rosstat) said.

The 10% of Russian's with the highest incomes accounted for 31% of all income in 2009 compared with 31.1% in 2008.

The 10% with the lowest incomes accounted for 1.9% of the total in 2009, matching 2008's figure.

Personal incomes continued to exceed spending in 2009. Incomes totaled 28.38 trillion rubles in 2009 (25.23 trillion rubles in 2008) and spending amounted to 28.32 trillion rubles (25.13 trillion rubles).

Incomes of less than 2,000 rubles a month were received by 1% of the population (compared with 1.5% in 2008), 2,000-4,000 rubles - 6.5% (8.4%), 4,000-6,000 rubles - 10.3% (12.2%), 6,000-8,000 rubles 11.1% (12.3%), 8,000-10,000 rubles - 10.4% (10.9%), 10,000-15,000 rubles - 20.4% (20.2%), 15,000-25,000 rubles - 21.8% (19.8%) and over 25,000 rubles - 18.5% (14.7%).
