Ruble ticks up in early MICEX trading as dollar slips

MOSCOW. Feb 16 (Interfax) - In early MICEX trading, the ruble posted small gains against the bicurrency basket, the dollar slipped and the Euro ticked up amid rising oil prices.

Tomorrow dollar deals on the MICEX began within 30.12-30.15 rubles/$1, or 7-10 kopecks below Monday's close and the official Central Bank exchange rate.

Euro trading began at 41.16 rubles/EUR1, or 3 kopecks above Monday's close and 5 kopecks above the Central Bank rate.

The ruble rose a little against the bicurrency basket ($0.55, EUR0.45) in early Tuesday trading. The basket slipped to 35.09 rubles, or 4 kopecks from Monday's close.

Interfax-CEA analysts attribute the bicurrency basket's small drop to rising oil prices, and the dollar's dip on the MICEX to corrective Euro growth to $1.365-$1.366 on the Forex.
