Gazprombank added to RTS Board

MOSCOW. Feb 17 (Interfax) - Shares in Gazprombank, Russia's third largest bank, were added to the RTS Board, the quote-driven market for unlisted stocks and bonds, on February 17.

Gazfond controls Gazprombank. The fund's management company is Lider, a company in the SOGAZ insurance group, controlled by Bank Rossiya, whose founders include Yury Kovalchuk, Nikolai Shamalov, Dmitry Gorelov, Transoil SNG, Surgutneftegas , and S-Group. Gazprom , which previously controlled Gazprombank, now has 41.73% of shares.

The bank planned an IPO at the end of 2008, but delayed the listing in the hope the markets would improve. The subject of the IPO has resurfaced recently, after the Daily Mail said the bank was planning to list on the LSE in the coming months, however sources at the bank have denied the report.

The RTS Board currently includes 1,719 securities and 1,255 issuers.
