Surplus of FDI inflow to Ukraine in 2009 decreases by 27%
KYIV. Feb 17 (Interfax) - The surplus of foreign direct investment flowing into Ukraine in 2009 decreased by 27.4% to $4.41 billion, the State Statistics Committee said.
The committee said that FDI inflow to the Ukrainian economy came to $5.635 billion.
The surplus inflow of FDI in the fourth quarter of 2009 came to $1.435 billion.
Total FDI to the country reached $40.027 billion at the end of 2009, an increase of 12.4% since the start of the year. Per capita FDI came to $872.6 for 2009, up form $775.3 posted for 2008.
In 2008, Ukraine's FDI surplus came to $6.181 billion, a drop of 22.1% from 2007. In the fourth quarter of 2009, the first net outflow of FDI was posted coming to $1.898 billion.
