BAKU. Feb 18 (Interfax) - Azerbaijan's oil refineries increased output by 4.3% year-on-year in January 2010, the State Statistics Committee told Interfax.

According to the committee, production of straight-run petrol increased by 30.4% to 29,600 tonnes, diesel fuel - up 7.8% to 221,800 tonnes and lubricants - 31.3% to 2,100 tonnes.

Production of automobile gasoline dropped by 2.2% to 104,300 tonnes, kerosene - 21.7% to 48,800 tonnes and petroleum bitumen - 28.8% to 9,400 tonnes.

Azerbaijan has two oil refineries, both part of SOCAR: Azerneftyag and the Geidar Aliev refinery in Baku. Their aggregate refining capacity is 22 million tons of oil annually.
