German companies will take part in 2014 Sochi Olympics preparations
MOSCOW. Feb 19 (Interfax) - The Russian market is still attractive for German investors, and German companies are intent on making a substantial contribution to the preparations for the Winter Olympic Games in Sochi in 2014, said German Minister of Economics and Technology Rainer Bruederle
"A few days ago Russian President Dmitry Medvedev approved a set of measures to improve the investment climate, which I can only welcome. Russia would make a big step on this path, if it manages to implement all those measures within the set - quite ambitious - deadlines while ensuring their coherent and transparent practical implementation, Bruederle said in an interview with Interfax.
Despite the effects of the economic and financial crisis, for German companies Russia "is still a very attractive market in terms of investment potential," he said.
"German companies are also going to make a weighty contribution and in preparations for the Winter Olympic Games due to be held in Sochi in 2014. German companies are offering first-class solutions for regional infrastructure and logistic problems," the official said.
