Russia lifting ban on 7 German meat suppliers, ups no. of Italian milk suppliers

MOSCOW. Feb 25 (Interfax) - Russia's Federal Veterinary and Phytosanitary Oversight Service (Rosselkhoznadzor) is lifting its ban on meat from seven German meat suppliers and expanded the list of allowed Italian dairy suppliers effective March 1.

The ban was imposed last December over failure to comply with Russian veterinary and sanitary requirements. Now allowed to ship to Russia from Germany will be the following companies: DE EZ 917 EG, DE-NW ES 202 EG, DE ES 148 EG, DE ES 161 EG, DE EZ 688 EG, DE NWES 691 EG, and DE NI-EUZ 518 EG.

The Italian dairy enterprise to be added to the list of permitted exporters will be N IT 08 785 CE Lactalis Parma S.P.A. Five Polish poultry outfits will be added to the list to export incubated eggs, and just-hatched chickens and turkeys.

Rosselkhoznadzor also announced that as of February 24, a new list of fifteen Belgian enterprises allowed to export milk and dairy products to Russia was in effect.
