Core sector output in Russia up 3.8% in Jan - Rosstat
MOSCOW. March 3 (Interfax) - Core sector output in Russia increased 3.8% year-on-year in January 2010, the Federal State Statistics Service (Rosstat) said.
Physical output by the five core sectors, which are industry, agriculture, construction, transport and retail, fell 25.8% in comparison with December.
Industrial production in January increased by 7.8% year-on-year, cargo transport - 11.3%, retail turnover - 0.3% and total agricultural output - 3.2%.
In 2009, core sector output fell by 9.4%. In the fourth quarter of 2009, the decrease in core production and services came to 2.6% in comparison with the same period of 2008.
