Russian senators, businessmen to discuss hydrocarbons extraction in Sudan
MOSCOW. March 9 (Interfax) - A Russian delegation of senators and businessmen will hold talks with politicians and businessmen in Sudan.
The talks will address leading Russia companies' role in the extraction and refining of hydrocarbons in Sudan, presidential envoy for Sudan and chairman of the Federation Council's international affairs committee Mikhail Margelov told Interfax.
The visit will last from March 10 to 13, he said. "The goal of the visit is to hold consultations with representatives of the governing party of the National Congress and with the leaders of the main opposition forces. I will speak about prospects of implementing the framework agreement on the peaceful settlement in Darfur, and about obstacles slowing the conclusion of a full-scale peace agreement between Khartoum and the rebel forces," Margelov said.
