Nord Stream to be completed by end of 2011 - Putin

MOSCOW. March 9 (Interfax) - The 750-mile Nord Stream natural gas pipeline directly linking Russia and Germany under the Baltic Sea will be constructed by the end of 2011, said Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin.

"Practical work on the marine section begins in April, and the system will be fully completed by the end of 2011," Putin said at a meeting with Swedish Prime Minister Fredrik Reinfeldt on Tuesday.
