Freight One may spend 40 bln rubles to buy 30,000 cars for Kazakh subsidiary

MOSCOW. March 24 (Interfax) - Rail freight operator Freight One, a subsidiary of Russian Railways (RZD) , plans to spend 40 billion rubles to purchase up to 30,000 rail cars for its subsidiary in Kazakhstan, Freight One chief Salman Babayev told journalists on Wednesday.

The cars would be purchased in 2012-2013, he said. The subsidiary will be formed in May-June, he said.

Kazakhstan's entire rail freight park consists of 100,000 cars, including 60,000 owned by national rail operator Kazakhstan Temir Zholy.
