Sinopec completes largest overseas oil engineering project
Shanghai. April 7. INTERFAX-CHINA - China Petrochemical Corp. (Sinopec Group), the country's second largest oil company, has completed its largest overseas oil engineering project - the GASENE pipeline in Brazil, the company announced on April 6.
The GASENE pipeline is 1,377 kilometers long, spanning three states and 72 cities, and has a daily gas transmission capacity of 20 million cubic meters.
Sinopec and the Brazilian government officially signed the $1.25 billion contract to develop the pipeline in November 2004, when Chinese President Hu Jintao visited the country.
