Belarus in talks to sell Naftan refinery to Lukoil, Rosneft - Semashko

MINSK. April 8 (Interfax) - The Belarusian government is in talks with Russian oil companies Rosneft and Lukoil on sale of a stake in the Naftan refining concern in exchange for strategic investment.

"I don't conceal the fact we are in talks with Rosneft and Lukoil, discussing their entry into Naftan as strategic investors," First Deputy Prime Minister Vladimir Semashko said at a meeting of the supervisory board for labor and social issues in Minsk on Thursday.

Rosneft and Lukoil declined to comment on the report.

However, a source close to Rosneft said: "Belarus has spoken on more than one occasion of Russian company interest in Naftan, but no actual negotiations on that issue ever took place."
