CORRECTION: Total unemployment in Russia down by 18,000 persons to 6.418 mln persons in March

MOSCOW. April 19 (Interfax) - Total registered unemployed in Russia dropped in March by 18,000 persons to 6.418 million persons (8.6% of the economically active population) in comparison with February, the Federal State Statistics Service (Rosstat) said.
Unemployed dropped by 396,000 persons in February and by 670,000 persons in January to 6.841 million persons. The increase in total unemployed was recorded for the fourth month in a row in January 2010 after seven months of steady decreases.
Total unemployed dropped by 6.8% year-on-year in March.
The lowest number of unemployed was posted in September 2009 at 5.764 million persons.
