Qiyi launches second round of beta testing
Shanghai. April 20. INTERFAX-CHINA - Qiyi.com, Baidu Inc.'s online video search site has entered the second phase of beta testing, domestic media reported on the evening of April 19.
According to a Web portal Sina, Qiyi trial users were granted 50 invitations on April 19. The new invitees will then be granted 50 invitations, until the site is eventually accessible to all Internet users.
During the current testing phase, the site will launch four separate channels for movies, TV programs, documentaries and general entertainment. An official launch is slated for the end of April, according to the Sina report.
Qiyi entered its first phase of closed beta testing on March 29.
Interfax reported on April 19 that online video site Youku.com launched its own video search engine on Soku.com.
