MTS subscriber base in Russia down 0.1% in March
MOSCOW. April 22 (Interfax) - Mobile TeleSystems (MTS) increased its consolidate subscriber base by 0.1% to 97.76 million persons in March 2010 in comparison with February, the company said in a statement.
The statement said that the company's Russian subscriber base decreased by 0.1% to 69.08 million users.
The decrease was the result of reduced subscription in Moscow and St. Petersburg following the write-off of subscribers from last summer's marketing drive.
The company's subscriber base in Ukraine dropped by 0.2% to 17.35 million persons.
The company's subscriber base in Uzbekistan went up by 1.2% to 7.38 million persons, Turkmenistan - 4% to 1.9 million persons and Armenia - 0.5% to 2.11 million persons.
