Russian stock market opens on rise, MICEX index quickly gains 0.9%

MOSCOW. April 26 (Interfax) - The Russian stock market opened with benchmark stock gains amid improving world stock and commodities markets thanks to strong U.S. stats and diminishing concern over a possible Greece default, and the MICEX quickly tacked on 0.9%.

By 10:31 a.m. Moscow time, the MICEX index had risen 0.91% to 1481.02 points, the RTS index was up 1.24% at 1622.94 points, and most benchmark shares had gained 0.5%-1.5%.

VTB was up 1% on the MICEX, Gazprom had risen 0.9%, Gazprom Neft 1.5%, Norilsk Nickel 1%, Lukoil 0.8%, Polyus Gold 0.6%, Rosneft 0.8%, Rostelecom 0.8%, Tatneft 1.1%, and Sberbank of Russia 1.1%.
