Pirelli mulls acquisitions in Russia
VILLA GERNETTO. April 26 (Interfax) - Pirelli, the major Italian tire-maker, may increase its presence on the Russian market with plant acquisitions, Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi said after cooperation document-signing ceremonies with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin.
"We talked not long ago about the possibility of the company Pirelli acquiring a number of plants that could employ 2,500 people," Berlusconi said. He then expressed the hope that these plans would be "firmed-up soon".
