Russia, Norway sign package of cooperation documents

OSLO. April 27 (Interfax) - Eight documents have been signed during Russian President Dmitry Medvedev's state visit to Norway.

The main event during the visit was the signing by Medvedev and Norwegian Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg of a declaration on the delimitation of maritime boundaries and cooperation in the Barents Sea and the Arctic Ocean.

Medvedev and Stoltenberg also signed a joint statement on the results of the visit.

A memorandum on cooperation on energy efficiency and renewable energy was signed between the Russian Energy Ministry and the Norwegian Ministry of Petroleum and Energy.

The parties also signed an intergovernmental memorandum on training specialists for organizing the national economies of Russia and Norway.

The Russian Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology and the Norwegian Meteorological Institute signed a protocol on hydrometeorological cooperation.

The two countries' education ministries signed agreements on cooperation in their field.

Russian Prosecutor General Yury Chaika signed on behalf of his Office an agreement with the Norwegian National Authority for Prosecution, as well as the country's Justice Ministry and police.
