Ruble gains against dollar and euro on MICEX

MOSCOW. April 29 (Interfax) - The U.S. dollar and euro decreased on MICEX on Thursday while the ruble posted gains against the Central Bank's bi-currency basket as the mood on global markets improved.

The dollar decreased by 6.25 kopecks to close at 29.2175 rubles/EUR1 in Tomorrow trades on the MICEX while the euro went down by 12.33 kopecks to finish at 38.71 rubles after hitting a daily low of 38.6225 ruibles/EUR1.

The bi-currency basket (set at $0.55 and 0.45 euro) decreased by nine kopecks to close at 33.49 rubles.

The dollar's average weighted exchange rate on the MICEX decreased by 11.54 kopecks to 29.2631 rubles/$1 in Today deals on Wednesday and 11.68 kopecks to 29.2535 rubles/$1 in Tomorrow deals. Total dollar trading on the MICEX amounted to $4.648 billion with $1.203 billion in Today deals and $3.444 billion in Tomorrow deals.

The average weighted rate of the euro went down by 7.67 kopecks to 38.6835 rubles/EUR1 rubles in Today deals and 2.64 kopecks to 38.7257 rubles/EUR1 in Tomorrow deals. Total euro trading came to 261.8 million euro, of which 99.9 million euro were Today deals and 161.9 million euro were Tomorrow deals.

The MIACR increased by 17 basis points to 3.85%.
