Russian Defense Ministry confirms tanker release from pirate captivity
MOSCOW. May 6 (Interfax-AVN) - The crew of the Russian anti-submarine vessel Marshal Shaposhnikov has released the Russian tanker Moscow University, which was hijacked by pirates in the Gulf of Aden on Wednesday, Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Col. Alexei Kuznetsov told Interfax on Thursday.
"Nobody was hurt among the tanker crew and the Russian military. The pirates have been detained and are being held on board the Moscow University tanker," Kuznetsov said.
