IMF, intl financial institutions in assessment mission to Kyrgyzstan

BISHKEK. May 20 (Interfax) - A joint mission of international financial organizations has arrived in Kyrgyzstan to assess the impact of April's political turmoil on the nation's economy, the Kyrgyz Finance Ministry reported.

The mission includes officials from the International Monetary Fund (IMF), World Bank, Asian Development Bank, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), European Union, Swiss Cooperation Office in Kyrgyzstan and UN Development Programme.

The mission will remain in Kyrgyzstan until May 31.

The officials will focus on the macroeconomic situation in Kyrgyzstan and budget and tax policy. Their report will be presented at the conference of donors and the international community in Bishkek on July 8, 2010.
