Russian banks' credit portfolio grows 0.9% in April, loans to private borrowers 1% - CB

MOSCOW. May 21 (Interfax) - Russian banks' combined credit portfolio, including Sberbank of Russia , grew 0.9% in April, while credits to private borrowers increased 1%, Director of the Central Bank's department for licensing and the financial recovery of lending organizations Mikhail Sukhov told reporters on Friday.

"The forecast for growth in lending in 2010 by five or more percent is justified in real terms and fully achievable," Sukhov said.
