CIS premiers sign documents promoting cooperation
ST. PETERSBURG. May 21 (Interfax) - Participants in a meeting of the CIS council of prime ministers signed a number of documents, including those concerning economic cooperation, in St. Petersburg on Friday.
In particular, they endorsed a plan of priority events to be held to implement a concept of cooperation between the CIS members in the energy field and signed a protocol on stages of forming a common electric power market of the CIS members, according to official documents circulated following the meeting.
The participants also endorsed a CIS radio-navigation program for the period up to 2012.
They also signed an agreement on cooperation between the CIS countries in building, using, and developing a network of information and marketing centers to promote goods and services on national markets and endorsed a statute of a working group for the development of such centers.
In addition, they approved a plan of events dealing with the 20th anniversary of the CIS.
