Prokhorov says not interested in buying Uralkali
SOCHI. May 27 (Interfax) - Billionaire Mikhail Prokhorov said he is not interested in buying potash miner Uralkali .
"This company is not of interest to me," Prokhorov, head of the Onexim Group, told reporters on the sidelines of the Strategic Partnership 1520 forum in Sochi.
Uralkali has said its core owner, Dmitry Rybolovlev, is in preliminary talks to sell a stake with several parties. Market sources have named Prokhorov as one of those parties, along with Vladimir Potanin, Suleiman Kerimov, Vladimir Lisin and Vladimir Yevtushenkov.
Potanin's Interros has already denied he is interested in buying Uralkali, and Vladimir Strzhalkovsky, chief executive of MMC Norilsk Nickel , says a merger between Norilsk and Uralkali is not under consideration.
