GCL-Poly inks silicon wafer supply contract with DelSolar

Shanghai. May 28. INTERFAX-CHINA - GCL-Poly Energy Holdings Ltd., the largest polysilicon producer in China, inked a three-year silicon wafer supply contract with Taiwanese solar cell maker DelSolar Co. Ltd. on May 27, GCL-Poly announced on the same day.

Under the contract, GCL-Poly will supply silicon wafer supplies to DelSolar starting from May 2010 until December 2013, according to the announcement.

Volume and price terms have not yet been disclosed, but will be adjusted in accordance to market conditions over the next three years, CGL-Poly said.

GCL-Poly had an annual polysilicon production capacity of 18,000 tons last year, which is expected to grow to 21,000 tons by the end of this year. The company expects silicon wafer production output to reach 2 gigawatts (GW) by the end of this year.

GCL-Poly operates approximately 20 solar and wind power plants in China's eastern Jiangsu and Zhejiang Provinces.
