Dollar continues to slide, euro rises on MICEX Friday

MOSCOW. May 28 (Interfax) - The dollar ended down again on the MICEX and the euro posted gains both in Russia, as on the Forex market, while the ruble strengthened against the bicurrency basket amid rising oil worldwide.

The dollar closed down 14.25 kopecks at 30.675 rubles/$1 in MICEX Tomorrow trading, having dropped to 30.38 rubles/$1 in the morning. The euro slipped to 37.54 rubles/EUR1 at one point, but ended up 18.25 kopecks at 37.94 rubles/EUR1.

The bicurrency basket ($0.55 and EUR 0.45) finished at 33.94 rubles on Friday, having lost 84 kopecks over the week.

The average weighted dollar exchange rate slipped 40.85 kopecks to 30.4815 rubles/$1 in MICEX Today deals and 34.86 kopecks to 30.5146 rubles/$1 in Tomorrow trades. MICEX trading volume for the day was $6.173 billion, of which $1.667 billion was in Today and $4.506 billion in Tomorrow deals.

The average weighted euro rate lost 32.32 kopecks to 37.6505 rubles/EUR1 in Today and 16.39 kopecks to 37.77 rubles/EUR1 in Tomorrow trades. MICEX volume was EUR 430.5 million, with EUR 144.3 million in Today and EUR 2.862 million in Tomorrow exchanges.

The indicative overnight MosPrime Rate was 2.88% for the third straight day.
