Customs Union's common economic area agreements must be ratified by 2012 - Shuvalov

ST. PETERSBURG. May 28 (Interfax) - All agreements concerning the Customs Union's common economic area must be ratified by 2012, Russian First Deputy Prime Minister Igor Shuvalov said.

"We presume that the package of documents for forming a common economic area should be signed and ratified by January 1 next year," Shuvalov told journalists following a meeting of the Governing Body of the Customs Union on Friday.

Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin has also urged the need for documents to be adopted even sooner, but this process involves hard work, Shuvalov said.

"The latest date by which these agreements must be ratified is January 1, 2012," he added.
