Russia to auction chrome license

SALEKHARD. June 15 (Interfax) - The Russian Federal Subsurface Resources Agency (Rosnedra) will hold an auction on August 2 for the exploration and mining rights to the Severnoye chrome deposit in the Yamal-Nenets autonomous district, the agency's local branch, Yamalnedra, said in a statement.

Probable P1 chrome ore reserves are 195,000 tonnes and P2 - 15 million tonnes.

Applications to bid will be accepted by July 10 and the starting price is 11 million rubles.

The deposit is in the Priuralsky district, 60 km northwest of the city of Labytnanga and 10 km south of the Polyarny Ural railway station. The property includes the major Lek-Voyazh mineralization and more than 20 smaller mineralizations.
