Hualu taps online video sector
Shanghai. June 17. INTERFAX-CHINA - Dalian-based state-owned electronics manufacturer China Hualu Group Co. Ltd (Hualu) has commenced alpha testing of its online video Web site Hualu.com, domestic media reported on June 17.
The site is projected to launch in July and will oversee the areas of in-house production, high definition (HD) broadcasting, interactive advertising and e-commerce, among other activities, according to Web portal Tencent.com.
Under Hualu's "video and e-commerce" model, viewers will be able to purchase products featured on TV programs through a specialized interactive platform.
Hualu staff told Tencent that the site aims to be the first domestic video portal to integrate e-commerce features, and already has plans to partner with Amazon's China site, Joyo.cn.
