Russian state may provide support to Rosneft, Chevron production project
ST. PETERSBURG. June 17 (Interfax) - The state may provide support to implementation of a joint production project between Rosneft and Chevron, Prime Minister Vladimir Putin said during a meeting with Chevron chairman and CEO John Watson.
"We are taking note of the fact you are assuming certain risks as concerns geological exploration. That places certain challenges before us in connection with support for those kinds of projects," Putin said.
Rosneft and Chevron plan to sign an agreement that would allow the U.S. oil major to take part in production projects in Russia, he said.
