Banking reporting system in Russia should be modernized - Medvedev

ST. PETERSBURG. June 18 (Interfax) - President Dmitry Medvedev believes that the banking reporting system in Russia is far from ideal and needs to be modernized.

"It is obvious that we must attach significance to this problem, so that this financial reporting be more modern and less cumbersome," Medvedev said at a meeting with the top managers of leading Russian and foreign banks in St. Petersburg on Friday.

"Our reporting is evidently not at a very high level so far, although, to be fair, I should admit that such criticism is applicable also to other financial systems and other countries," Medvedev said.
