Russia should more actively import intellectual resources - Medvedev

ST. PETERSBURG. June 19 (Interfax) - Russia should step up its efforts to import intellectual resources from abroad, said Russian President Dmitry Medvedev.

"Russian colleges and companies should invite scientists and engineers from abroad for research," Medvedev said at a session of a commission dealing with Russia's economic and technological modernization in St. Petersburg on Saturday.

"The quantity and quality of invited specialists should serve as a criterion of their [Russian colleges' and companies'] efficiency and ability to meet modern requirements," he said.

"Results of cooperation with foreign companies and universities significantly determines our country's future and competitiveness on the international arena," Medvedev said.
