Henan coal mine blast kills 46

Shanghai. June 21. INTERFAX-CHINA - A coal mine explosion in central Henan Province's Pingdingshan City claimed the lives of 46 miners in the early morning hours of June 21, state media reported on the same day.

According to China Central Television (CCTV), 72 miners were in the No. 2 Xingdong coal mine when stored explosives detonated. Of the 72 miners, 26 managed to escape, leaving 46 confirmed dead.
